macos Apple Silicon / universal binary package?

Hi,

The RStudio 2021.09.2-382 macos download seems to be Intel architecture only.
Are there any plans or schedule for publishing a universal binary package?

Yes, we plan on making a universal binary for Mac in an upcoming release, hopefully around June. It won't make it into our upcoming "Prairie Trillium" release, for which there are already previews available (2022.02.0) and which will release in Feb. Currently, the IDE on Mac M1 will work with an arm (M1) version of R, but the RStudio application is still x86 and running through Rosetta.
