Windows proxy not being recognised since Internet Explorer was removed

Good afternoon,

I have come up against a problem with Rstudio getting internet access behind a proxy since removing Internet Explorer. I am using the most recent version of the community addition for Windows.

I have also tried setting environment variables and the renviron.site file. and neither are working.

I would prefer to leave Internet Explorer off the system.
