Will Quarto Pub soon become an option for the RStudio Publish Document button?

With a simple Quarto document, RStudio gives me three options when I click the the Publish Document button: RPubs, Posit Connect and Posit Cloud. I have two questions:

  1. Are there any plans to add Quarto Pub as an option and, if so, when?

  2. For teaching beginning students, do people have opinions/advice on which service to use, either for ease of use or future development?

For years, I have used RPubs, which has worked fine. But my sense is that RPubs is not the future. So, should I be moving students toward Quarto Pub or Posit Cloud?
