White screen on loading R Studio

Hi all

Suddenly, RStudio loads on a white screen. No menus are available. It is essentially just the outline of the studio, the rest is white. R console works fine. R files open in R console rather than R studio; choosing 'open with' Studio leads to white screen. It seems like it stopped working after I tried installing the package PanelMatch (https://github.com/insongkim/PanelMatch).

I'm on MacOS Mojave. R version is R 3.6.2. RStudio version before failure was 1.3.687.

I've attempted fixes such as the rendering issues (https://support.rstudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017886674?input_string=white+screen), reinstalling Studio numerous times including daily builds, resetting/renaming Studio's desktop state, renaming preferences... and now I'm at a bit of a loss.

I'm in the last few months of my PhD and this is quite a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, and Merry Christmas...!

Hi, and welcome!

I'm on Mac Air Early 2015, Catalina, R 3.6.2, RStudio 1.2.5019 with Preferences | General | Advanced | OS Integration | GPU autodetect, blacklist and driver workaround. Installing PanelMatch had no effect.

RStudio 1.2.5033 is just released, and I'd suggest falling back to that from your current version (I'm not even sure that there is a 1.3.667; at least, I couldn't find it.)

And don't panic. At worst, you can run free cloud instances if you can keep your total resource demand under 1GB!

Thanks, I was using that version - the 1.3 was the dailies version.

Interesting that panel match didn't change anything.

Anyone else have any potential solutions here?
