I am working in RStudio to build a reproducible bibliometric workflow using PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science data. While PubMed and Scopus API access works. I am running into limitations with the Web of Science API Lite (Starter) key. The current Web of Science Starter API uses a REST-based approach and is not compatible with R or RStudio I was told from Clarivate. As a result, API-based extraction for WoS is not currently viable for my workflow. I am posting to confirm whether others have encountered similar limitations with the WoS API Lite and to ask if there is a recommended approach for integrating WoS data into bibliometric analyses in R when full API access is not available.
