Abstract
This article explores the launch metrics (speed and angle) of balls batted in play during a baseball series (the 2024 Dodgers-Padres playoff series). As users first scroll, they will see charts and a quote to provide a background on the reigning World Series champion, the Dodgers. To retell a story of the series, users will scroll and see a series of interactive plots that highlight patterns of balls in play and key series events. Users can click on a plot observation to see a video of the observation. Users reach the end and are encouraged to explore a Shiny app to explore further: https://axelkent.shinyapps.io/LaunchMetricsApp/
