URL's on Posit Connect Cloud?

Hello, I've recently learned of the sunsetting of Quarto.pub, and that we should move our websites to Posit Connect Cloud. Am I right in understanding that URL's on Posit Connect Cloud are less "intuitive" than URL's on Quarto.pub? e.g. I have re-published https://globalfamilies.quarto.pub/global-families-project/ on Posit Connect Cloud and the URL is the much less intuitive https://019fb2fb-4b6a-3b73-1d6b-dbd1fe67b11b.share.connect.posit.cloud/. Am I understanding the process right? Please note, this is NOT a criticism of either excellent service; just a request for clarification. I APPRECIATE the excellent free publishing from Posit /RStudio.

Hi Andy,

Yes, there are definitely ways to customize your URL so it looks a little more appealing. For all plans (including the Free plan), you can edit any app or document and set a custom URL.

1. Open the settings page for your document.
2. In the URL section, toggle on Customize your URL and enter a name.
3. Republish to apply the change.

One thing to note, the custom URL does have the account's name prepended to the custom name you provide.

And for those with the Enhanced plan, if you own your own domain, you can add a custom wildcard domain to your account and assign sub domains of your domain to any app or document.
