Unable to read .xlsb file in R from Posit Prod Workbench

Anyone knows any way to read .xlsb files in R which are there in P Drive from Posit production workbench?

All of the inputs in tool 1 are in (.xlsb) format. The input files are present in IPS server.
I am unable to install readxlsb package. It is saying your R version doesnt support it.
I am using R 4.4.0

It is giving me erroe "unsupported <"

Please help on an urgent basis.
