Unable to launch fresh installation of R Studio

Hi,

I have an M1 Mac running Monterey, and I'm completely unable to launch R Studio. Frustratingly, I do not get any detailed error messages - just "The R Session process exited with code 1".

Things I have tried so far:

  • Purging and reinstalling Rosetta, R (arm version), R Studio and Xquartz (For good measure)
  • Running the following commands in terminal:
    defaults write com.rstudio.desktop $'desktop\xb7renderingEngine' 'software'
    defaults delete com.rstudio.desktop

Has anybody else had similar troubles on M1 Mac? Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated it
