Today, I was working with RStudio, and I decided to upgrade to the latest version of the software. To achieve this, I uninstalled the previous version and downloaded the newest one. However, since this installation, RStudio suddenly fails to launch. After the installation, it refuses to open and displays an error message. : The entry point procedure "DiscardVirtualMemory could not be found in the dynamic link library C:/programm/files/Rstudio/rstudio.exe."

Hi, try clearing R from the reg keys before reinstalling both R and R Studio again.

Launch Regedit as admin, and have a look in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

Experience the same some weeks ago.

I uninstalled both R and RStudio.

You could switch off your laptop then put in on back

Downloaded the new versions on both R and R studio.

Then re installed them.

It should work fine.
