The R and Rmd script editing behavior is different when opened in a new window (pop-out / popped out), ctrl + z

When an R or Rmd script is openend in a new window (or popped out as some call it), some editing operations, like undo (ctrl + z), redo (ctrl + shift + z) or insert a tab space (tabulator) need to be pressed twice for them to work. This has grown increasingly frustrating and cumbersome.

The behavior is reproducible on different devices and slightly different versions (ones from fall 2021).
