.svg image doesn't show in Rpresentation

In RStudio, when I create a presentation, an image with .svg doesn't show in the presentation preview, but the exact same image does show when the extension is .png

For example, in the below slide, the first image displays as broken link, but the second image shows fine. Also, if I "show in browser" both images show fine. (both files are present).
