SOS error starting R

Hello, I can't get R studio started - I have re-installed R and R studio a number of times but no luck.
Mr R is version 4.4.1, and R studio is RStudio 2024.09.0+375 "Cranberry Hibiscus " (c8fc7aee, 2024-09-16) for windows. My OS is Windows 11.

When I try to start R studio, I get this pop up window, saying Error Starting R. The message written in Japanese reads " [An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions]

I would really appreciate any advice or help,

This sounds like a problem caused by some security software. I suggest trying this:

  1. Disconnect your PC from the internet.
  2. Close any VPN.
  3. Temporarily disconnect your firewall software.
  4. Temporarily disconnect your antivirus software. 5. Now try running RStudio.

If that works, then restart those various applications one at a time to see which one is blocking RStudio. Most likely the RStudio.exe will need an exception created in the firewall rules.
