Seeking Feedback on My NLP Project: Analyzing Historical Narratives in Wikipedia Articles

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie in R and I am currently working on a project titled "Thailand’s Civil Rights Movements: Analyzing Historical Narratives in Wikipedia Articles Using NLP" as part of my application for a predoctoral fellowship in Political Science. The project deadline is coming up on the 15th of this month, and I'm feeling a bit uncertain about it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have!

Project Overview:

  • Objective: Develop a web scraper to collect data from online sources (e.g., news articles) and perform text analysis (e.g., sentiment analysis).
  • Skills Demonstrated: Web scraping, text analysis, and machine learning techniques for text classification (should I remove "machine learning techniques for text classification "?).

You can check out the project details on Notion and the fellowship I'm applying for here.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on:

  1. The overall approach and structure of the project.
  2. The techniques I'm using for web scraping and text analysis.
  3. Any potential areas of improvement, especially in the NLP aspects.

Thanks in advance for your help! Your insights will be incredibly valuable as I finalize this project.
