I am trying to send a custom email upon scheduled rendering of a Quarto document deployed to Posit Connect. I've saved the example from here in a Workbench session, and deployed the document to Posit Connect with push-button publishing
When I click the "email report" button in the top menu of the deployed content page, I get what I expect - the custom email body defined in the QMD doc:
But when I schedule the output using the "Schedule" menu on the right hand side, I get a generic system email saying "The site was generated" with a link:
It's great that I can send a content email when I want to, but I need these to go out automatically when the content refreshes, without the recipients needing to follow a link to the actual content. Is there a way to do this?
Quarto system version: 1.8.24
Quarto package version: 1.5.1
Connect version: 2023.10.0
Support for customizing email messages with Quarto was released in the January 2024 edition of Connect (March 2024 is the oldest currently supported version); could you see if you have the desired results with the latest version of Connect?
Thank you, David, I was afraid it might be a Connect version issue, since ours is so out of date. This is an enterprise setting, so I unfortunately can't just make an update like that. I am working with IT to get a version update through, but it may take some time. Do you have any other tips I could try?
