Same source file in multiple panes/windows

In Word, Excel etc. you can work on a single document in two windows at the same time which makes it easier to go back and copy chunks of text from early in a document in one window and paste them into later sections in a second window without scrolling up and down.

Is it possible to do something similar in R Studio?

I have seen the discussion about adding a second source column as a new pane but that doesn't allow you to work in the same file across two panes simultaneously.

You can go to the files pane on the lower right and open the file for a second time. However, the two open windows are not coordinated, as they would be in Word. So it's only of limited help.
