Rstudio using over than 100 GB per project in a environment folder

Hello everyone,

I have projects in my Rstudio where I use Rmarkdown to write my codes and control my package versions with renv on a Ubuntu machine.

Well, I am facing some problems with HD space. I was looking over my folders and noticed the folders inside each Rstudio project have more than 100GB.
A pathway example is
.Rproj.user/43BB5E29/ctx/ctx-18115/environment

Why Rstudio needs so much space?
Is there a way to use less space?
