I recently updated to the last version of Rstudio for Mac (2024.12.0-467). Whenever I try to double click a .R file to open, rstudio launches but it doesn't show the file, it only opens the directory of the file. If rstudio is already running and I try to open a .R file, then it displays the file as usual.
This wasn't happening in the previous version.
Environment is MacOS 15.2
Thanks for the bug report -- this is a known issue with the current release, and is currently being tracked here.
I experience the same problem.
New R files: If I make and save new code in the new RStudio (2024.12.0-467), it shows without the RStudio icon. When double clicking the file. RStudio opens but without the code. If I then click again on the file, when RStudio is open, the file loads into RStudio.
Old R files: If I double click on an R file created in an earlier version of RStudio (RStudio not open yet), R studio opens and loads the file. However, when I save this file in the new version, the RStudio icon disappears from the file, and double clicking on it produces the behaviour described above: RStudio opens but without the R file.
The MacBook Pro runs macOS Sonoma version 14.6.1
