I just updated base R and Rstudio to R version 4.4.1 (2024-06-14 ucrt) -- "Race for Your Life"
After doing this my Rstudio runs so slow that it often just breaks while on my VPN for work. I have tried running the same commands in base R while on the VPN and it doesn't have the same issues. I also tried unchecking my diagnostic option in my global option menu and this solves the issue based on this old post RStudio running abnormally slow for every action, including cleaning console and saving file.
I do like using the diagnostics so It would be cool to be able to use those. What does it mean about my Rstudio that unchecking this helps speed it up. I use a VPN everyday for work and need Rstudio to behave.
