rstudio keyboard stuck on one letter

something very odd is happening, suddenly when using Rstudio 1.2.1015 any time I want to write code the first letter is repeated for every stroke.

For instance, If I want to name a dataframe as "my_df" only the m is written this way "mmmmm"
Wait some seconds, and If I wanto to write any other letter is repeated no matter the key i hit

Any other editor or application worked flawlessly. This is restricted only to Rstudio.
Just in case I switched to an external mechanical keyboard but to no avail.

Does the issue persist after restarting RStudio?

Yes. Restarting the pc did not solve it
