My RStudio becomes frozen after 20 seconds that I open up an RMD file. I'm using Catalina. Does anyone have the same experience?

Our sessionInfo() outputs are identical down to
loaded via a namespace (and not attached):
where I have several other packages in namespace, but not your compiler and tools entries. I'm not sure how those came in. Did you install 3.6.2 from the CRAN pkg and RStudio from their pkg files?
