I have a 10 yr old personal laptop one which I am running the Rstudio Desktop IDE (2024.04.2 Build 764) and R for Windows (4.4.1). The problem with Rstudio started surfacing around 6 months back when I started working on projects saved in Google Drive - given that this is an obsolete machine, I'm saving all my work on the cloud for easier retrieval. Whenever I start Rstudio, I can only see the splash screen with RStudio being unresponsive. It can only be closed using Task manager. Screenshot below
This stackoverflow answer of using the "Troubleshoot compatibility" tab in windows explorer has been the only way I can get Rstudio to work. Something does not seem right here and I'm unable to make the software work correctly. I've disabled G Drive on startup but the error persists.
