Error Information: RStudio Desktop App won't start on Mac OS Big Sur

Description of issue - RStudio won't start, the app attempts to open then closes with the error message "Application not responding"

Attempted steps taken to fix - deleting and reinstalling the app, deleting and reinstalling R, checking to make sure I have the correct versions of both R and RStudio. Tried to check the Files and Folders permission, but I am unable to add RStudio to my permissions list.

System Information:

  • RStudio Edition: (Desktop or Server) Desktop
  • RStudio Version: RStudio Desktop 2021.09.1+372
  • OS Version: Mac OS Big Sur
  • R Version: 4.1.2
