Error Information: I am not receiving an error message. The RStudio application looks like it is going to open and the immediately closes.
Description of issue - I am using a Mac Intel UHD with MacOS Sequoia 15.2. When I start the RStudio app it appears to open for about one second before closing. The console never appears on the screen.
Attempted steps taken to fix -
I attempted to reinstall, R, RStudio, and XQuartz. Cleared out all R-related files and started from scratch but am still unable to open RStudio. The R application opens though and the problem is only seen when I open RStudio.
Bear with me, as I am not a Mac user. If you open a command prompt and run the RStudio executable there, do you get any error messages? Also, when RStudio closes can you run a command to list all running processes on the machine and confirm RStudio is not running (as opposed to running but disconnected from your window manager)?
I went and restored my computer from a backup from November when I know for sure it was working. That seems to have resolved the issue and it is working again. I am going to update other apps one at a time to see if there is some conflict that another app creates.
Today I experienced the same issue with RStudio. I had downloaded the latest version of Mac OS on my M1 Mac mini and subsequently RStudio would not run. This happened to me a few years back when I first started using RStudio on my new M1 (2023 I believe). One of the suggestions for a fix back then was to go into iCloud and turn off the Private Relay setting. That worked. However, this time around the reverse worked. I turned on the Private Relay.
