RStudio 1.1 very slow to open View() tabs on Windows 10

I am experiencing the same in a brand new windows 10 system:

sessionInfo()
R version 3.4.3 (2017-11-30)
Platform: x86_64-w64-mingw32/x64 (64-bit)
Running under: Windows >= 8 x64 (build 9200)

Matrix products: default

locale:

attached base packages:
[1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base

loaded via a namespace (and not attached):
[1] compiler_3.4.3 tools_3.4.3 yaml_2.1.17

View(x) becomes so slow, that RStudio becomes unresponsive for up to 20 seconds. Its very annoying.

Indeed my PC is part of a roaming network, and thus i dont think i can change my home directory (as described here: Slow RStudio View() on PC with HOME drive on a network · GitHub); or better i am unsure what this command would do to my system, which es embedded in such a network).

Any other ideas?

Hi, is there no other way than fiddling with your HOME variable?

As i said, i am in a roaming profile, where my home directory is pointed to a network drive - i have no idea (and i doubt i have the administrative rights) if i can switch my HOME directory.

Right now, RStudio is unplayable. I need to look at data sometimes.

Which version of RStudio are you using? I was having this problem using RStudio 1.1.383, but the problem went away when I upgraded to the most recent version (1.1.442).

You could also try a daily build of RStudio and see if the problem persists.
