RMySQL with encrypted connection

Hi, I am pretty new to RStudio and need help.

Since I changed MySQL Variable require_secure_transport=ON I cannot login with RMySQL nor RMariaDB in the common way. I can connect with ODBC but this driver seems very slow regarding my past experience with RMySQL.

Question: How can I login with RMySQL when SSL is required? Has somebody experience with this?
