RMarkdown to InDesign

Dear all

I'm currently working on a book project which my publisher is designing under Indesign. So far I've generated Word documents from R Markdown to get code chunks formatted in a suitable and practical way for the publisher's graphist but he loses all the formatting when shifting to Indesign.

Questions are :

  • how is the code formatted in Word documents generated from R Markdown - are there associated style files?

  • is there any good practice to import code chunks from R Markdown to InDesign? Shifting the whole book to R Markdown is not an option, we need to work with Word for the main text and the publisher needs InDesign.

Any tips much welcome.

Please avoid overly technical responses since I'm very new to R Markdown and not familiar with it.

Thanks!
