I have a polygon type shapefile that I upload it in Rstudio. How can I create first a raster of this polygon shapefile? Finally, I want to create a mask of the produced raster that will have a range from 0 to 0 values. Can you help me? / provide tips or code?

You could rasterise a polygon, then assign all the values to zero.
