R slicing of a data frame

If I have a df with 30 rows and 10 columns, and I want to create a new data frame by slicing, what would be the output if I apply the following code? How many rows would produce?

new_df<- df [c(1:13),]

I am confused with this question

dim(mtcars)
#> [1] 32 11
# rows first, can be a single or sequence but if not continuous by index
# must be c(1,2,3,6,) like
# columns second: if only selecting column can do dat[2:6] or dat[,2:6]
(new_df<- mtcars[1:13,])
