I can't import into Rstudio from Excel. When I click import it does not show the option of CSV, rather it shows reader. I click on that and it says it needs to install packages but it is unsuccessful. What am I supposed to do? I know nothing about programming and need this for a class.

This issue usually comes from Real System Protection in your Antivirus. You need to check that and make exception, or deactivate the antivirus if it is on your personal computer.
There is also some trick with trace function if you do not have the right on the antivirus (professional computer for example)
