In the interests of getting as much as possible out of the Applied Machine Learning workshop at rstudio::conf in January, I was hoping that I could ask @Max and @davis if they could recommend any resources or pre-reading that would be useful to do before the course. It is ok to recommend your own books
We spends some time going over concepts. Take a look at the first three chapters of FES. You'll need some exposure to model fitting (linear and logistic regression is good) and basic statistics.
We do a quick tidyverse review too but you'll need to be familiar with pipes, dplyr, etc.
