Posit connect (RS Connect) and Azure database/Synapse

As a R user, I publish certain products on my organisation Posit Connect server . I'm attempting to deploy a shiny app with an Azure database as its data source. I'd be grateful if you could help me with the following:

  1. How can I connect to a database using "ActiveDirectoryInteractive" authentication? This is due to the fact that the current setup employs this way, and I was able to connect on desktop, RStudio. If not, which method is recommended?
  2. Do we need to whitelist the public ip of our Posit connect server.
