Plot3d has black background and traces plot when rotated.

Description of issue -

Brand new user trying to use Plot3d. Draws plot with black background. Cannot change background to white. Graph and axis appear white. When I interactively rotate the plot it traces while it rotates and the traces remain. If I zoom in or out the traces disappear.
