I'd like to make Air available to my students but it needs to be installed from the command line before it can be specified in the r-studio preferences. Are there any workarounds to this for posit.cloud users? (I'm thinking something like the way the exiftoolr package will go out and install the exiftool binaries.) Seems like the use of a styler would make their scripts a lot easier to grade!
There is no way around that currently. Also, it is worth noting that the version of RStudio currently available on posit.cloud does not seem to have support for external formatters (it is a very new feature), so unfortunately it would not help right now even if air was pre-installed for your students.
