Paste figures in quarto markdown

I'm creating a presentation using Quarto and revealjs format. I'd like to include some figures that are copied from an old PDF file. If I was doing this using powerpoint or some other software, I'd take a screenshot and paste the result to the slide.

Is there an equivalent option in Rstudio? Can I just copy/paste an image or screenshot? Or do I have to save the screenshot as a PNG file and pull it into the presentation?

Did you try the Visual Editor already ?

It think it handles pasting images from clipboard.

I just tried here and it did not work for me.
