Option to completely disable the "visual" editor button and/or warn users about file changes

Bumping this previously closed request for an option to completely disable the "visual" editor button. Students often mess up their documents by clicking this button, and I would like to have a way to disable it.

Alternatively, or additionally, it would help to warn users before IDE makes changes to a plain text document when switching to the visual editor. Many students don't realize what happened and why things changed/broke.

Thanks!

Your best bet is to open an enhancement request.

You'll need to be signed in to Github, then go to create an issue, click on "Feature Request" and fill it out.

Disabling the "visual" editor button (or adding a warning before switching) would prevent accidental document changes, especially for students unfamiliar with the IDE. A simple toggle option could save a lot of confusion. +1 for this feature!
