Method of estimating median survival time : Brookmeyer and Crowly method?

Hello everyone. I'm tryng to write an abstract and worrying about the method of estimating median survival time and its CI. I have read the paper which said R computed the confidence interval for the median using the method of Brookmeyer and Crowley(1982). But I could not find the explanation on the Posit wesite.

Is the explanation above true? and where can I get the information about the method which is used for the function'survfit' ?
