Meta-analyzing values with confidence intervals

Hello, I am trying to use RStudio to pool different average rates (that come with confidence intervals) to determine an overall effect size as part of a school project. I am looking for some guidance:

a) I am using metamean as these are average rates...is this the correct package?
b) It only asks me for SE, is there any way to enter the confidence intervals that come with each study's final value instead?

Is this correct? Do you mean the metamean function in the {meta} package?
