keyboard shortcuts in menus are missing symbols

Recently the keyboard shortcuts have started to look strange. I can see all the letters alright but other symbols like ">" for File/Recent projects, or generally the Command-symbol are missing (shortcut for Open file... is only "O" rather than "Command O").

Have tried to reinstall and tried to restart after removing settings according to instructions here

Solved after yet another reinstallation.
