Issue with New Install

I'm having an issue with writing a sweave file in a fresh install of RStudio on a new computer. I first believed it was a knitr issue (initially submitted here #2345), but now that the initial issue was solved with the new version posted to CRAN, I believe it may be an RStudio issue.

It appears to be an Rstudio issue. I've reverted to version 2023.12.1 and the issue no longer exists.
