How to get Latitude and longitude from geoid in R

Hi All,

I have a file which have geoid of states of US, I want to create a MAP Chart ( Heat Map),I want to convert the geoid to Latitude and Longitude.
Is there any other way to create a map chart using geoid.

Please share your thoughts.
