How Learning R Improved My Business Intelligence Skills

When I first started learning R earlier this semester, I was intimidated by the programming language and the idea of data science. But the more I used R and explored RStudio, the more I realized how powerful it is for real Business Intelligence work. What really changed my perspective was how R allowed me to clean, structure, and visualize data in a way that supports decision-making.

One concept that really stood out to me while learning R is how the R programming work together with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau. At first, I thought R was mainly for programming and data science, but I learned that it actually plays a powerful role in BI. R helps clean messy data, automate calculations, and perform advanced analysis before creating dashboards. I want to be able to explain insights and drive better decisions.

I realized how R can save time and solve problems that BI tools alone struggle with. For example, when I used R to prepare a dataset before loading it into Power BI, the workflow became faster and more accurate.
