I am a Power BI developer and I know someone who is an R Shiny Developer. We were having a conversation about how they compare and what the future may look like for the two. Given that Power BI supports hundreds of R packages I assumed it would be easier to recreate the same visuals in Power BI as one can do using Shiny in R. I thought about it and figured it's best to ask the experts in this community. How do Power BI and R Shiny compare to you?. Do you think Microsoft's Power BI could compete with Shiny?. In August Shiny announced support for Python so more Python Shiny developers could start to emerge which would also create competitors in a way.
