I have see that shinyapps.io is closing down at the end of the year. My app uses multiple instances to manage user numbers - the app processes a lot of data. Will there be an option to horizontally scale apps on posit connect cloud?

Great - any idea of timescales (i.e. will it be before the forced migration?).
Currently using the professional tier - purchased by my University. Each instance is 8gb.
While horizontal scaling is certainly the goal, we’ll have more specific details as the year progresses. In July, we plan to release a full migration roadmap that will provide more certainty on all features and plans.
I see that you also opened a support ticket. I’ll follow up there with some more questions around your use case.
Finally, it’s worth noting that the top plan on Connect Cloud will soon offer up to 32GB instances, which is 4x the current 8GB limit on shinyapps.io. This means users will be able to scale a single instance much further on Connect Cloud than is currently possible on shinyapps.io.
