Gray screen with no file options on fresh installation

Rstudio 2022.12.0

I installed the most recent version of R, and then installed Rstudio. On opening Rstudio a window opens, but it is entirely gray with nothing but the minimize, maximize, and close buttons in the top right.

I have already tried using software rendering, as well as allowing it through the firewall. Any idea what might cause this?
