Is it possible to specify a functional pca (fPCA) dimension reduction in recipes and use the score for modelling? Is it possible to do functional regression in tidymodels?
tidymodels currently does not do functional PCA or functional regression. If you'd like to make a feature request, please open an issue on recipes and/or parsnip. Strong issues include a motivation for the feature, suggestions for already-existing implementations to integrate, and anything else that makes it easier to get started on the task.
