RStudio's behaviour when left-clicking a file in the Files tab of the Files/Plots/Packages/Help/Viewer/Presentation pane is unpredictable. On my installation, on Windows desktop, clicking a GIF or JPG will open it in the default external application for those file types, without providing any other options. Clicking a CSV yields two options, one to open it in RStudio's (rather bare-bones) built-in text editor and one to open its data set importing wizard. There's no option to open it in my default external application for CSVs, or indeed any other application. Other text-like file formats like XML and JSON typically open in RStudio's text editor whether that's really a good idea or not, again with no context menu for other options.
Is this configurable? Could it be?
