I have been having a problem for the past two weeks where every time I try to open Rstudio, I get an error message saying "Fatal error: Unexpected exception: boost::filesystem::canonical: Access is denied [system:5]:" then listing a specific folder in which I have a R project saved.
I have so far tried:
- deleting the file in question >> this just made the error pop up listing another R project file
- trying to open it on another computer using my same credentials >> same issue happened
- opened the R project directly from the file explorer. I could only open the project it listed.
- IT was able to replicate the issue remotely on their computer when logged in with their credentials.
- deleting both Rstudio and R and downloading updated versions.
If anyone could let me know what to do that would be great. IT has no idea and not many people in that department are very knowledgeable about R.
