Failure to build rgdal during deployment

Have you tried this walk around solution?

Shiny app no longer deploys (lwgeom)

Not sure if this is what fixed it or not, but in shinyapps.io under the app's advanced settings I unchecked Package Cache and then redeployed, this fixed my errors with rgdal.
