Hello,
I sucessfully create my gitbook themed bookdown book when I click "build-book" in Rmarkdown. Additionally, the book that pops up allows me to search throughout my various chapters perfectly. However, when I click on the "open in browser" button on the top left, even though the book successfully opens in my browser (as a local file), the search (i.e., magnifying glass) doesn't open. Any idea how to make the search work in my browser?

This is a limitation of browsers that prevent localhost files from executing scripts. If you publish it to an actual URL, then the search will work fine.
